Regulations
The LRC Library establishes its activity in accordance with a legal framework based on the Law in effect and internally through the Regulations that include the users’ rights and responsibilities, approved by the University’s Academic Council, with the Library Commission and the Disciplinary Commission as support instruments. The Regulations are reviewed according to the changes made to the service that are submitted to the Academic Council, which is responsible for approving the pertinent modifications.
Legislative framework
The LRC Library recognizes and respects the rights of copyright and intellectual property, as set forth in the current legislative framework:
- Law 23/2006, of July 7 modifying the consolidated text of the Intellectual Property Act, approved by Legislative Official Decree 1/1996, of April 12, for which the CRAI guarantees compliance and respect for the copyrights of the different copying systems available at its facilities (photocopiers and scanners), using posters to indicate the limits and exceptions established in it.
- Law 10/2007, of June 22, on reading, books and libraries, including the Final Provision One that modifies the Intellectual Property Act.
- Directive 2001/29/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of May 22, 2001 on harmonizing certain aspects of copyright and certain related rights in the information society.
In accordance with Organic Law 3/2018, of December 5, the Personal Data Protection and Digital Rights Guarantee Act, the LRC Library protects the right of confidentiality with regard to the information resources consulted by or lent to the users.
